Car accident kills woman on Massachusetts Turnpike

The main wish for drivers and passengers, Massachusetts residents included, is that they are never involved in an accident. However, most people do end up in a car accident at some point in their lives. After being involved in a crash, the biggest hope is that no one is injured. Unfortunately, injuries are a possibility, and a car accident involving just one or multiple vehicles can be equally devastating.

A three-car accident occurred in late May, killing a Massachusetts woman and injuring her two children. The accident took place on the Massachusetts Turnpike and had ramps to Route 95 closed for approximately two hours. The woman driving a Toyota Corolla was pronounced dead at the scene while her two teenage children were taken to the hospital for treatment. The drivers of the two other vehicles were unharmed.

The cause and fault of the accident is still under investigation. Authorities at this time do not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in the car accident. There are a number of aspects to be considered when an accident occurs, and officials should look into all elements before deciding the fault of the crash.

Should one of the other drivers be found at fault in causing the car accident, he or she could be facing serious allegations. The family of the deceased now faces the task of arranging a funeral, and the two injured children must deal with possible mental anguish over losing their mother along with physical pain of their injuries. If evidence is found against one of the other drivers, the deceased's family may wish to pursue a wrongful death case for financial expenses, pain and suffering, or other damages permissible under Massachusetts law.
