Serious injuries result after boat traps people in car accident

Massachusetts was the scene of an accident involving two vehicles and a boat, which shut down a road for four hours. The car accident, involving a Silverado truck towing a boat and an Audi sedan, occurred when the two motor vehicles collided at an intersection. All four passengers involved in the accident were seriously injured due to the boat falling on top of both vehicles, trapping three of the passengers inside.

The car accident is currently being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. According to reports thus far, fault has not been determined in the wreck. Although no criminal charges have been filed in the accident at this time, those injured in the car accident could decide to file a personal injury claim.

In order to successfully litigate a personal injury claim, the victim in the case has the burden of proof in a court of law. It must be proven the person alleged to be at fault was negligent in some way, which resulted in injuries to the victim. Should the person alleged to be at fault be found negligent, a court could determine that a monetary award is appropriate.

Those Massachusetts residents who have been injured in an auto accident may find a personal injury claim to be appropriate for their situation. Many times after an injury, a victim is unable to work, has excessive medical bills and has a lengthy recovery time. The monetary award possible in a successful personal injury case could assist with medical bills as well as loss of wages and other expenses incurred after a car accident.
