Teen bicyclist killed in Massachusetts car accident on Cape Cod

The victims of Massachusetts car accidents aren't always those who are traveling in the affected vehicles themselves. They can also be pedestrians, or those on self-propelled devices such as scooters, bicycles and skateboards. In Wellfleet, one teenage bicyclist became the unfortunate victim of a car accident, leaving behind grieving family, friends, co-workers and teachers.

The cyclist, a reputed chess whiz, was riding his bike on a Saturday in mid-August when he was struck on busy Route 6 by a Honda Accord. The Accord was driven by a senior citizen. By all accounts from those who knew him, young man was a devoted worker at a local Cape Cod fish market and was well-liked by his peers.

The victim was found to be unconscious at the scene of the accident, and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead due to injuries. No charges have been filed thus far by police, although the car accident remains under investigation. Friends of the victim have spoken to the media in droves about the youth, whom they remember as a stand-up individual with a positive outlook.

Stories like this one are indicative of the graveness of all auto crashes that occur in our country, from Massachusetts to Hawaii. Victims of car accidents and their family members (especially in cases such as the aforementioned where the victim did not survive the incident) benefit from knowing their legal options regarding potential civil. claims for reimbursement of financial damages sustained due to another party's negligent or reckless conduct. Though legal recourse cannot bring back the life of the person who died as a result of a car accident, it is a right that all involved victims and victims' families are entitled to explore.
